John Deer Drive Green July 28, 2010 David I brougth this CD game for my grandson last week. He is 6 years old. He loves John Deer items. He was able to start the game with little instruction and enjoyed playing it.
For $6, it was good value for fun.
WORST GAME EVER PLAYED!!! June 24, 2010 D. Howell (Sisters, OR United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
okay so the hard thing about leaving a review where you don't say WHY you don't like a game is that everyone comments back and complains about the fact that you didn't say what was wrong with the game. yet... when the game is so horrible that you can't compare it to anything you've ever seen, how can you leave a review comparing it to something other people would be familiar with enough to understand the review? i'm literally so stumped at how bad this game is that it has left me virtually speechless. so... i will try my best:
1) BOOOOOOOOOOOORING!: you mount a tractor, get on the tractor, and drive it BAAAACK and FOOORTH across a feild. that's the whole game. i got several levels into it just patiently waiting for something to happen and the feilds just kept getting bigger. there's nothing to look at outside of the fields or anything as the graphics (even on highest setting) is still the same bush every few inches or so, so all you get to look at is this field under you as you drive back and forth. sure, you start off just doing an easy one (mowing i think) and then it gets ratcheted up a notch where you have to... wait for it... push the SPACEBAR while you drive to spread seed! ooooo.... just all around the most boring game i have ever played in my life. i literally put my notebook against the keyboard and went and put a hot pocket in the microwave, and by the time i came back, the notebook was still playing my game, and the tractor was still driving in a boring straight line.
2) controls SUCK: period. the man you walk around with glitches and gets stuck in the fences and signs as you move around. the tractors get anywhere remotely NEAR a fence and they glitch and get stuck in it. unlike some games that understand this issue and install an auto-unstuck button or an equivelent, the only thing you can do is abandon the job you're on, in which case you have to start all over, and HOPE you don't get stuck in a fence again.
3) the objectives are all the same: once you complete one "job" of treating one man's land, another man wants you to come and do something on HIS land. unlike the SIMS, where the objectives are all about jobs and personal life achievements but still manage to take the same idea and switch it up and make it interesting over and over again, this game is just mow this, spread this, cut down that, drive up a line, drive down a line, over and over and over.
4) no tutorial: the game doesn't explain how to do anything. another reviewer has noted this also. there is just no way to know HOW to do the things it's asking.
OVERALL: if you are still tempted to get this game, take out a pen and paper and draw a long line up the sheet, covering an inch every 2-3 seconds, and then go back down. when you're done, go back up, and then back down. when you're done again, oh yes... go back up, and then... wait for it... go back down. A) if you are still having fun by 5 minutes into this, you might enjoy the game for a couple of levels, and B) if you are still having fun by the time the whole sheet is covered in ink, you will probably really like this game. For most of us, take my warning: you will be sorry you spent the 9.99 on this coaster.
Faming Simulator April 17, 2010 Donald 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Farming Simulator is a Much Better Game. You don't work for anyone, You own your own Farm, and can Have workers helpping you. You can use your steering wheel,There is three cruise speeds. There is an inside and outside view, also can zoom in and out. There is four items you can grow,Plus staw and hay, and 20 plus lots of land to do it on. There is a GPS, and Mini Map that you can zoom in and out.( key 9) There is weather changes, Market prices go up and down, You can store in silos untill pice gos up. And what I like most is you can download Mods!!
Finally a farm driving game March 4, 2010 M. J. Mier (Redmond WA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I received this game about a week ago and as a person who used to work on a farm and love everything associated with farming, this game can get addicting. I have a half way decent computer and it runs well, once in a while I get a glitch, but for the most part the game play makes it worth it. I like this better than the other John Deere games because it gives you more control over actually "farming" your fields.
I actually have fun mowing the lawn too! Just an all around fun game on a rainy day.
