Nice older game/My kid loved it May 24, 2010 Smokezilla (Kentucky) Bought this for my kid as he is NUTS over the Star Wars Battlefront games and thought this one would be a nice buy to add to his collection. Couldn't get the game to run right away (I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium). Read on a message board that others had similar problems until they switched-off bumpmapping. Once I made this adjustment under the Options/Video, the game ran with no problems. For an older game, this one still holds up pretty well, especially for the price! If you're a fan of this genre, give this one a look.
A worthy buy! February 15, 2010 jakewild (KS) Okay, 70 or so dollars is a lot to pay for this. But, this game is extremely underrated. I view it as one of the best FPS games there are! The graphics are pretty fabulous given the date this was released, although the average computer may have a little trouble handling high graphics on it. They didn't do the best job ever of compressing this game.
The story mode is amazing, albeit rather short. It's engaging, exciting, and frustrating all at the same time.
The online multiplayer mode is fairly...pedestrian. It's nothing that special, consisting of Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, CTF, and something called assault, which is altogether pointless. It will still keep you addicted for a loooong time though!
I would reccomend this to anyone! I bought it for my friends for their birthdays, and we play it often! Once again though, I'd consider going elsewhere to buy. Sorry Amazon, but your price is a wee bit steep!
Republic Commando fan November 4, 2009 A. Vega (Fort Worth, TX United States) Started reading the Karen Traviss Republic Commando books and decided to give this game a try.
Boy am I glad I did, this is probably the best first person shooter I've played.
I do wish there was a Playstation 2 version to play, since lately I've moved away from PC games to PS3 games, but it's definitely worth playing, either on PC or XBox.
Really disappointed that LucasArts never did a sequel, hopefully they'll correct that mistake someday.
Overall, really enjoyable game, especially when played along with reading the books.
Great Game September 15, 2009 Perfectly challenging game for PC gaming enthusiasts. My only complaint is that it is a bit short. Would be great if there was a sequel for PC.
Enjoy!
One of my favorite games August 20, 2009 Leallen L. Hafer I got the game a few years after it came out in 2005. Although the multiplayer isn't very well thought out, the single player is amazing. This game is probably one of the first star wars games that freaked me out (The underground levels in geonosis, and the early levels in the republic attack cruiser). For the first time in a star wars game, you can walk down a hallway and see a body part or a bloodstain. The controls for the squad are simple, unlike the controls to other squad based shooters. This game, was probably one of the only attempt lucas arts made to make a decent FPS.
